The Petty Tyrant's Paper-Tantrum: Trump, Spurned by Reality, Tries to Ban It

After a judge told him he can't ban reporters he doesn't like from the White House, a seething Trump resorts to barring them from his magic plane, only to watch the entire press corps tell him to fuck off.

The facts

Donald Trump has continued his pattern of attacking the press, recently barring Politico from providing pool coverage on Air Force One during a trip to Nebraska. This action was met with solidarity from other media outlets, who declined to fill Politico's spot. The White House claimed Trump grants "unprecedented level of access to the press." Trump also posted on Truth Social, stating that "The New York Times and many other Artificial Media Outlets should be arrested for their dishonesty and disservice to our Country." This follows a mid-September attempt to ban Politico, CNN, and MS Now from the White House, which led to a lawsuit. A Trump-appointed judge issued a temporary restraining order reinstating press badges. CNN has since been repeatedly denied access to Air Force One, with the administration arguing that traveling with the president is a privilege, not a right. Ted Boutrous, a first amendment lawyer representing the news organizations, stated, "The law is absolutely clear." A hearing is scheduled to address the media outlets' request for a preliminary injunction. Trump's administration has faced multiple court fights involving news organizations like the Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, and New York Times. The Columbia Journalism Review noted a "striking and heartening show of solidarity from the White House Press Corps." Peter Baker of The New York Times observed that for the first time in his 30 years covering the White House, a president would not have a network TV camera covering his official actions and travels. Approximately 50 media organizations backed the lawsuit by filing an amicus brief. Margaret Sullivan, a Guardian US columnist, suggests Trump's anti-press actions garner attention, which he requires, regardless of the negative nature of the coverage. Trump also recently made controversial statements about Iran, prompting criticism from California Governor Gavin Newsom.

Our take

Look at this pathetic, whining cunt. Having a federal judge - one *he* appointed, no less - smack down his toddler-tier attempt to ban news outlets from the White House wasn’t enough humiliation. So the bloated, orange dickhead has moved on to the next stage of his tantrum: banning Politico from his big, loud sky-bus. The official excuse, that flying with the president is a “privilege,” is the kind of tinpot bullshit you’d expect from a third-world strongman who thinks the state jet is his personal limo for fleeing creditors. It’s not governance; it’s the petulance of a man who still can’t believe the mean papers won’t print his coloring-book version of events. And his response to being told ‘no’ by the courts? To go on his shit-stained social media blog and demand the *arrest* of the New York Times for “dishonesty.” You absolute clown. You want to jail the free press because they keep a tally of your lies? That’s not a policy, it’s the wet dream of a wannabe autocrat who gets hard at the thought of his own impotent edicts. The beautiful part, the part that should make his tiny hands shake with rage, is that it blew up in his flaccid face. The White House press corps, in a “striking and heartening” show of balls, told him to get stuffed and refused to take Politico’s spot. Even the networks he licks boots for won’t send a TV camera to follow him around anymore. He’s so repellent, so fundamentally dishonest and toxic, that the basic machinery of presidential coverage is breaking down rather than enable his vanity. He’s sitting in a $4 billion flying palace, screaming into the void about “Artificial Media,” while the actual professionals who document history have collectively decided he’s not worth the oxygen. He’s a laughingstock, a self-isolated prick marinating in his own irrelevance, throwing a paper-tantrum because the adults in the room finally learned to stop giving him the attention he desperately craves. Fuck his privilege. The only privilege here was ours, getting to watch the entire institution of journalism finally tell this whining, fraudulent bastard to go piss up a rope. Next time, maybe he should just fly solo. The silence would be a national fucking service.
