The facts
The Student List, an opposition movement that originated from nearly two years of anti-corruption protests, is presenting the most serious challenge to Serbian leader Aleksandar Vučić since his party came to power in 2012. The movement, which has no hierarchy or nominated leader, has selected 250 candidates, including Novi Sad University professor Ilija Srdanović, who tops the list. Srdanović stated that it is normal to support students in their "fair struggle." Vučić, who has held successive high-level positions since 2012, has characterized the student movement as foreign-backed and aiming to destabilize the country. He has pointed to economic growth and infrastructure improvements during his tenure, while critics cite media bias and misuse of public resources. The movement's origins are linked to outrage over the deaths of 16 people in a railway station canopy collapse. Analysts predict a very close election, with the Student List attracting a large crowd at its final rally, contrasting with Vučić's solo appearance at his campaign's closing event.
Our take
Imagine being Aleksandar Vučić, a professional government dickhead who’s held every title in the country for over a decade, and your biggest threat isn’t some rival oligarch or a foreign spy - it’s a fucking study group. A ‘movement’ with no boss, no hierarchy, just 250 candidates who probably still get allowance. Their top guy is a university professor, Ilija Srdanović, who gave the most academic endorsement ever: it’s ‘normal’ to support students. Normal? What’s ‘normal’ is a strongman shitting on the opposition, not getting cornered by a student council with a vendetta over a fallen train station canopy. That’s the origin story here: a concrete awning kills 16 people, and instead of just getting sad, these kids got fucking organized. For two years. And now Vučić has to pretend they’re a CIA project because the idea that his own citizens just hate his guts is too fucking devastating for his little ego-trip. He’s out there bragging about roads and GDP growth like a contractor applying for a Yelp review, while the country’s biggest rally is for a bunch of students and their kindly professor. The pathetic cunt held his final campaign event alone. Alone! Like a kid who pissed off everyone at the birthday party. Meanwhile, the Student List is packing squares. The ‘analysts’ are calling it tight because they can’t just say the obvious: a man who’s spent years calling himself indispensable is about to get his ass graded by a mob that doesn’t even have a president. The ultimate report card is coming, and the only comment is ‘see me after class, you failing, foreign-backed, infrastructure-obsessed prick.’ Fail him. Fuck him up. It’s normal. It’s fair. It’s a struggle. It’s beautiful. Let the children eat the fucking president. Pass the red pen and watch the strongman bleed ink. The bell is ringing, and Vučić didn’t do his homework. Time to collect his fucking head on a platter made of loose-leaf and righteous fury. Get bent, old man. The kids are literally in charge now. Or they will be, once they finish their fucking finals. Absolute poetry. Eat shit, Aleksandar. The future didn’t ask for your permission. It just showed up to your rally, saw you standing there by yourself, and started laughing.
