The facts
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has demanded a thorough investigation and prosecution of the anonymous Israeli military sources featured in the documentary 'NAZA.' The film, which won a special jury prize at the Venice International Film Festival, draws on testimony from 24 unnamed Israeli military whistleblowers. These sources accuse the Israeli military of using artificial intelligence-powered targeting systems to kill numerous civilians in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu stated on X that he wants the chief of general staff, the head of the Shin Bet, and the attorney general to investigate the film's participants for "serious information security violations, criminal libel, and harm to Israel’s diplomatic and security interests." He described the film as presenting a "false, misleading, and biased narrative" that damages Israel's international standing. The Israeli military has categorically rejected the allegations, calling some assertions "absurd" and insisting that strike approvals are made by human personnel only. Army Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has ordered an investigation into suspected leaks of classified military information. The film's directors, Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, have been accused of "treason," with Netanyahu and Culture Minister Miki Zohar threatening to revoke their Israeli citizenship. In contrast, 43 Israeli rights groups have defended the filmmakers.
Our take
Benjamin Netanyahu, the sweaty, flailing strongman of a crumbling PR front, is now demanding the heads of two dozen ghosts. His latest tantrum, posted to X for the world to see his desperation, is a masterclass in cowardly, censorious bullshit. A documentary called ‘NAZA’ uses testimony from two dozen anonymous Israeli military whistleblowers to allege the army used AI to kill civilians in Gaza. So Bibi’s response isn’t to address the fucking allegations, but to order his top security goons to hunt down and prosecute the people who spoke up. He calls it an investigation into “serious information security violations, criminal libel, and harm to Israel’s diplomatic and security interests.” Translation: How dare you tell people what we did, you’re making us look like the war crime enthusiasts we are! The man is a walking, talking diplomatic self-own, a prick who thinks the solution to a bad headline is to become a bigger, more authoritarian dickhead. His military, of course, calls the claims “absurd” and insists a human always pulls the trigger - as if that’s some moral get-out-of-jail-free card when the targeting list is spat out by a fucking algorithm. Now the film’s directors are being called traitors and threatened with having their citizenship revoked. Nothing says “vibrant democracy” like a culture minister and a prime minister playing passport confiscation with critics. Forty-three Israeli rights groups are defending them, which means Netanyahu isn’t just fighting some film students; he’s declaring war on his own civil society because his vanity can’t handle the truth. The only thing more automated than the alleged targeting system is this clown’s predictable, thuggish response to being exposed. Fucking pathetic. End of. No notes, just the behavior of a cunt who knows the walls are closing in and is screaming at the shadows on them. Prosecute the truth. That’s the platform. What an absolute shitshow of a government. May it be remembered as the gaggle of thin-skinned authoritarians who tried to jail a documentary into silence. Fuck them all. They’re done. They just don’t know it yet. They never do. Assholes always think the problem is the mirror, not the face in it. Cunts. Every last one.
