The embassy cited comments and actions, such as meetings with US Democrats and calls for retaliatory tariffs. For instance, Industry Minister Mélanie Joly reportedly said, That's exactly why I'm meeting so many governors and potential presidential candidates when asked about tariffs if Democrats won. Ontario Premier Doug Ford allegedly pushed for additional retaliatory tariffs on imports from states supporting the current US administration. The world’s sole hyperpower has officially become the geopolitical equivalent of that guy at the bar who starts a fight and then screams ‘I’M BEING OPPRESSED!’ when someone pushes back. The US Embassy in Ottawa, presumably staffed by the most delicate snowflakes in the Foreign Service, is now accusing Canada of election meddling. Their shocking evidence? Canadian politicians, after the US slapped tariffs on their country, talked about maybe doing some tariffs back and meeting with American politicians. The sheer, unadulterated gall. The audacity. The absolute dickhead-level hypocrisy is breathtaking. Minister Mélanie Joly meets with some US governors and suddenly she’s a fucking Kremlin agent. Doug Ford mentions retaliatory tariffs and he’s plotting a coup in Des Moines. What did they expect? A handwritten thank-you note for the economic headshot? Prime Minister Mark Carney, a man who probably has to stifle a laugh just getting out of bed these days, correctly pointed out this whole shitshow started when the US decided to piss on its closest ally’s leg. Now the embassy is calling that rain. The whole accusation is a masterclass in pathetic, petulant bullshit. It’s the diplomatic version of a toddler accusing the wall of being mean because he ran face-first into it. These clowns initiated a trade war, got a response any sentient country would mount, and are now crying ‘interference’ because Canada didn’t just lie down and thank them for the privilege of getting fucked. It’s a cowardly, transparent attempt to create a smokescreen of victimhood while actively being the aggressor.
