The facts
Katie Zacharia, Donald Trump's newly appointed press secretary, has faced scrutiny regarding her claims of being a lawyer. The Guardian reported that while Zacharia has repeatedly identified herself as an attorney, no public records indicate she has ever been licensed to practice law in the U.S. states where she has resided. When questioned by reporters after her first press briefing about the state where she passed the bar exam, Zacharia responded, "when I moved to China." A review by The Guardian found that Zacharia was not registered in 38 states, nor in Washington D.C. or the Virgin Islands, where attorney lists are publicly available. Although Pepperdine University confirmed she graduated from its law school in 2011, a law degree does not equate to a license to practice. The State Bar of California stated it has no record of her being licensed in the state. Zacharia later issued a statement saying she had "practiced international transaction law, with all the appropriate credentials." The White House has not confirmed if she passed a bar exam anywhere. The Campaign for Accountability, a watchdog group, filed a complaint with the California state bar, requesting an investigation into whether Zacharia misled the public by claiming to be a lawyer without a license, which could be a violation of state law.
Our take
Get a load of this absolute fucking fraud. Katie Zacharia, who now gets paid to lie for Donald Trump on a professional basis, has been lying about her own professional basis. This cunt has been parading around calling herself a lawyer, a title that, last anyone checked, requires passing a test and getting a piece of paper from a state. But for this grifter, it just requires a law degree and the brass balls to pretend the rest happened. She’s a press secretary whose first press-worthy act is being exposed as a bullshit artist about her own life. It’s so perfectly on-brand it hurts.
When reporters - those nosy pricks who insist on facts - asked the simple question of where she passed the bar, she didn’t name a state. She didn’t name a jurisdiction. She didn’t even name a fucking year. She hit them with the verbal equivalent of a smoke bomb: 'when I moved to China.' What in the ever-loving shit is that? Did she find the bar exam next to the Great Wall? Was it administered by a guy selling fake Rolexes? Did her 'appropriate credentials' come in a happy meal from a Beijing McDonald’s? It’s the most transparent, pathetic, I’m-full-of-shit dodge since a toddler blamed the broken vase on a ghost. She might as well have said her license is in Narnia or stored in the same vault as Trump’s health care plan.
Of course, a nationwide search found precisely fuck-all. Not in 38 states. Not in D.C. Not in the Virgin Islands, which, let’s be honest, is probably the only bar registry Trump has ever personally cared about. Pepperdine says she graduated, which is great. You know who else has a law degree? Every fucking idiot who ever flunked the bar seven times. A diploma is a receipt, not a license. It’s the difference between owning a scalpel and being a surgeon, you absolute clown. The State Bar of California has no record of her, which means her 'practice' of 'international transaction law' was about as real as the transaction where Trump paid his contractors in full.
Now a watchdog group has filed a complaint, accusing her of potentially breaking the law by pretending to be a lawyer. Think about that. The woman hired to be the official voice of factual information for the executive branch is facing a legal complaint for lying about her qualifications. It’s not an embellishment; it’s a fucking fraud allegation. She’s the press secretary, and her first credibility crisis is about her own resume. You couldn’t write a better metaphor for this administration if you tried. It’s a shit circus, and she’s the new ringleader, waving a diploma she thinks is a bar card.
So let’s be clear. Katie Zacharia isn’t a lawyer. She’s a liar who got a job lying for a liar. Her 'appropriate credentials' are the confidence of a con artist and the ethical flexibility of a used car salesman. The only case she’s ever argued is the one for her own employment, and the only evidence she’s presented is a load of steaming, China-scented horseshit. What a perfect, unqualified, dickhead fit.
