Trump's Midterm Meltdown Tour: A Symphony of Lies, Whines, and Imaginary Firing Squads

The former president’s midterm stump speeches are a masterclass in racist fantasy, wannabe-tyrant tantrums, and election-fraud fan fiction.

The facts

Ahead of the midterms, President Trump has made several controversial claims at campaign rallies. Regarding immigration, Trump stated that Somali immigrants 'All they do is kill each other in the streets. Then they come into the United States of America and they tell us how to run our country. We're not going to stand for it.' However, the Congressional Budget Office projects that immigration surges will add $1.2 trillion to federal revenue over 10 years. Additionally, undocumented immigrants are not eligible for Medicaid, and lawfully present immigrants face a five-year waiting period for eligibility. Research from KFF indicates immigrants are not more likely than U.S.-born citizens to use government assistance. On the topic of leakers, Trump suggested they 'should be shot.' Leaks are typically prosecuted under the Espionage Act of 1917, with maximum prison sentences of five to 10 years. Capital punishment is generally reserved for crimes involving murder or death, with treason being a rare exception, last prosecuted in 2006 and last sentenced in 1948. Trump also claimed that voting machines were 'broken purposely' in Republican areas during the 2022 Arizona governor's race. Landers reported that an issue with ballot ink lightness caused delays but did not disenfranchise voters. Subsequent legal challenges were dismissed. The Department of Justice also sent a letter to California election officials requesting they review a list of 20,000 individuals believed to be noncitizens on voter rolls, a request election officials found insecure. The federal government's track record with such lists is questionable, with a previous list sent to Nevada containing only citizens.

Our take

What a fucking carnival barker. Donald Trump is back on the road, selling bottles of his own distilled bullshit to the rubes, and the recipe hasn’t changed: take one cup of racist panic, add a splash of violent fantasy, and top it off with a conspiracy theory so stupid it should come with a helmet. Let’s start with his opening number: shitting on Somali immigrants. This bloated, spray-tanned grifter stands up and claims they ‘kill each other in the streets’ and come to the US to ‘tell us how to run our country.’ It’s a pathetic, racist bit he’s been doing for years, and the punchline is always a lie. The actual, non-fucking-imaginary Congressional Budget Office says immigration surges will add $1.2 trillion to federal revenue. That’s not driving up costs, you absolute cunt, that’s covering them. And his bit about healthcare? Undocumented immigrants can’t even get Medicaid, and legal ones have to wait five years. Research shows they use public assistance less than people born here. So his entire rant is a fiction he pulled from the same rancid place he gets his hair color - a cheap, cruel lie designed to make his fans hate people who look different. It’s the act of a coward who builds himself up by kicking down. Then this draft-dodging dickhead, who spent four years crying about leaks, suggests leakers ‘should be shot.’ Shot! For the crime of exposing his corrupt, clown-car administration? The law, a concept that baffles him, handles leaks with prison time. The death penalty is for murder, not for someone revealing you’re a fucking idiot. The last treason execution was in the 1940s. But Trump, a man whose idea of bravery is attacking a Gold Star family, thinks calling for executions makes him sound strong. It’s the wet dream of a weak, petty asshole who can’t stand anyone knowing the truth. And then the grand finale: his greatest hit, The Election Was Stolen (From Me, Again!). He’s still whining that machines were 'broken purposely' in Arizona. The reality was a problem with ballot ink lightness - a glitch, not a conspiracy. It didn’t change a single vote, and the courts told him to get fucked. Meanwhile, his own Justice Department is so laughably incompetent it sent California a list of 20,000 'noncitizen' voters that officials called insecure and useless, just like a previous list to Nevada that was packed with citizens. This is the party of 'election integrity': a bunch of clowns sending out garbage spreadsheets and then shrieking fraud when their candidates lose. It’s a con, a pathetic, transparent grift to hide the fact that he’s a loser. Every rally is just him vomiting the same old lies, hoping the smell will attract more flies.
