The announcement followed reports of Ukrainian attacks on oil processing plants in Ryazan and Saratov. Ukraine had previously refrained from such attacks to give Trump's proposed ceasefire a chance. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented that Ukraine's actions were in conflict with US peace efforts. Russia, however, has continued its own strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, with recent attacks cutting power to 600,000 citizens. Well, well, well. The great peacemaker Donald Trump's grand 'energy ceasefire' turned out to be about as solid as a dog shit in a rainstorm. Ukraine, being the only dickhead at the table who actually stopped shooting, watched Russia merrily continue to blow up its power grids and leave 600,000 people in the dark. So President Zelenskyy, in a move of profound 'no shit' logic, has announced the block is out and they're done playing pretend. They've gone back to frying Russian oil processing plants, because when the other guy is still punching you in the face, you don't stand there holding your own dick waiting for a referee who's busy buying the attacker's fucking diesel fuel.
Let's unpack the sheer, breathtaking stupidity of this whole circus. Trump, the prick, apparently just announced a ceasefire existed. No confirmation from Russia, no actual deal, just him flapping his gums and maybe hoping everyone would just believe him. Meanwhile, his actual policy moves have been to lift sanctions on Russian oil and promise to buy their diesel, making him less of a peace broker and more of a fucking customer service rep for Putin's energy sector. So Ukraine, the good-faith morons, held fire. And for their trouble, they got more blackouts and a growing suspicion that the sudden lack of US intelligence and the Starlink 'glitches' fucking over their troops weren't accidents at all, but deliberate acts of sabotage from their so-called ally.
Zelenskyy's new offer is the only sane thing in this shitshow: fine, we'll stop hitting their energy stuff again, but only if you give us Patriot missiles to actually shoot down the Russian missiles still hitting ours.
