The facts
President Donald Trump announced on Monday that taxpayer funds will no longer be used for television advertisements that feature him. The ads, which have cost at least $1.5 million in federal money, were aired ahead of the November midterm elections and have appeared during football games and other programming. In a social‑media post, Trump defended the spots as a “positive promotion for our Great U.S.A.” but said future funding would come from him personally or from his MAGA Inc. PAC, which had more than $400 million by the end of July. Democratic lawmakers have alleged that $20 million from the Department of Homeland Security was transferred to pay for the ads and have called for independent investigations. California Attorney General Rob Bonta called the practice a “staggering misuse of public funding and breach of public trust.” FCC Chair Brendan Carr, a Republican appointed by Trump, previously said the ads were appropriate and declined to open an inquiry.
Our take
Well, fuck me sideways with a rusty flagpole. After plastering his bloated, spray‑tanned mug across our screens on our dime, the world’s most needy man‑baby finally decided to stop using the U.S. Treasury as his personal campaign slush fund. What a fucking prince. He only quit this grift after every ethics expert with a pulse and a few lawmakers who aren’t complete cowards pointed out that spending $1.5 million of public money to run ads where he bellows about communism during football games is, in legal terms, absolute bullshit. His defense? A “positive promotion for our Great U.S.A.” Sure, Donnie, and a herpes outbreak is a positive promotion for celibacy. The only thing being promoted was his own sagging, pathological vanity, complete with a government‑funded disclaimer to really rub our noses in it. The gall of this prick is staggering. He sits on a $400 million PAC war chest – MAGA Inc., which sounds like a failing strip‑mall franchise – but he still had to suckle at the taxpayer teat first. He even double‑dipped into Homeland Security funds, turning a department meant to stop threats into a billboard for his face over Mount Rushmore. California’s AG called it a “staggering misuse,” which is a polite way of saying this cunt treated the Treasury like a drunk tourist treats a casino ATM. Of course, his FCC lapdog, Chair Brendan Carr, said it was all just peachy. Now he’ll ‘personally’ pay for it. What a hero. He’s like a shoplifter offering to pay for the jewelry after the security tapes are played on the nightly news. The only positive promotion here is the promise that this thieving, self‑obsessed clown stays far, far away from public money again. Fuck off and pay for your own propaganda, you cheap bastard.
