Six House Clowns Demand Marco Rubio Punish India Because Some Fucking Photographer Took Pictures in Chicago

McGovern, Tlaib, Omar, Jayapal, García and Norton, in a letter that earnestly cites the 'Cockroach Janata Party,' want the State Department to investigate Indian diplomats for allegedly hiring photographers at protests and to consider cutting off U.S. arms sales. Their core grievance? The education minister they wanted gone already quit.

The facts

On October 16, 2026, six members of Congress, James P. McGovern, Jesús G. “Chuy” García, Rashida Tlaib, Pramila Jayapal, Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Ilhan Omar, wrote to Secretary of State Marco Rubio about protests in India and alleged surveillance of protesters on American soil.

The letter says widespread protests began in June after the leak and cancellation of India's national medical college entrance examination, an exam taken by over two million students a year, with more than a dozen reported suicides since the May leak. It says protesters mobilized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), “a youth movement named in reference to comments by India’s Supreme Court chief justice comparing unemployed youth to cockroaches,” sought the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The letter notes the development with approval: the government has taken some steps to address student grievances, “with the notable inclusion of Education Minister Pradhan’s resignation.”

The letter further says that since September 25, tens of thousands of demonstrators have protested the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision, which it says purged more than 130 million people from voter rolls since 2025. It says hundreds of people have been detained by police across India since October 10, including more than 600 demonstrators in Mumbai, that police and paramilitary forces used tear gas, pellet guns, and batons against unarmed protesters, and that the Indian government ordered mobile internet shutdowns in areas where protests were ongoing.

On the American side, the letter says the members “received reports that Indian diplomatic missions in the United States hired photographers to surveil protesters on American soil.” Protesters in Washington, D.C., Chicago and San Francisco said they were photographed by individuals who identified themselves as having been hired by the Indian Embassy and Consulates General.

The letter urges the State Department to press India for investigations of alleged human rights violations, encourage the release of detained protesters, investigate the reported surveillance, and assess, under “Section 6 of the Arms Export Control Act,” whether India “has engaged in a consistent pattern of acts of intimidation or harassment directed against individuals in the United States and is thus ineligible for arms sales.”

Our take

What a bunch of absolute, self-important cunts. Six members of Congress - James P. McGovern, Jesús G. “Chuy” García, Rashida Tlaib, Pramila Jayapal, Eleanor Holmes Norton, and Ilhan Omar - have collectively shat out a letter so fucking stupid it should be framed as a monument to political vanity. They typed the words 'Cockroach Janata Party' onto official United States House of Representatives letterhead and sent it to the Secretary of State. Not as a punchline, but as serious fucking policy. Imagine being the poor bastard at the State Department who had to brief Marco Rubio that a youth movement named after a judge calling kids cockroaches is now a cornerstone of American diplomatic correspondence. That civil servant deserves hazard pay.

The substance of their whining is even more pathetic. Their earth-shattering 'reports' of Indian malfeasance on American soil boil down to this: someone hired a photographer. At a protest. In Washington, D.C., Chicago, and San Francisco. That's it. That's the fucking crime wave. Protesters said someone with a camera said they were hired by an embassy. From this rock-solid intelligence, these six legislative geniuses have concluded that the appropriate response is for the United States to threaten cutting off arms sales to a nation of over a billion people. Let that sink in. Their evidence of a 'consistent pattern of acts of intimidation or harassment' is a guy with a Nikon in Chicago. It's the diplomatic equivalent of seeing a kid with a water pistol and calling in a fucking airstrike.

And the cherry on this shit sundae? Buried in their own letter is the admission that the whole original reason for the protests they're championing is already fucking resolved. The protesters wanted Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's head. The letter notes, with the smug satisfaction of a hall monitor who just missed the bell, that the government has taken steps 'with the notable inclusion of Education Minister Pradhan’s resignation.' So their central fucking demand has already been met. The minister is gone. The cockroach-named party got what it wanted on that score. But these six dickheads had already printed the letterhead, so fuck it, send it anyway. They're now complaining about tear gas and internet shutdowns in India and photographers in San Francisco to a Secretary of State who has precisely zero fucks to give about any of it.

This is what our government spends its time on. Performance art for the politically pure, paid for by taxpayers and delivered with all the gravitas of a toddler's crayon drawing. They want Rubio to 'investigate' and 'assess' and 'press' over a situation where their main ask is already accomplished and their big American scandal involves a freelance photographer. It's bullshit of the highest order, a vanity project so transparent it's a miracle the paper doesn't disintegrate from the sheer heat of their own smugness. They aren't conducting diplomacy; they're jerking themselves off with a franking privilege.
