‘I Drop Bombs, You Don’t Even Have to Rhyme’: How a Wrestler’s Lazy, Ghoulish Freestyle Got Him Fired in One Night

The 'Acclaimed' rapper's TNA debut ends with a career-ending bar so catastrophically stupid it should be studied.

The facts

Max Caster, known for his rap entrance, made his debut for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) at the Bound for Glory event. During his ring entrance, Caster performed a rap that included a lyric referencing the recent attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The lyric stated, "… And it’s the firing squad. I drop bombs. You don’t even have to fly to Riyadh." The attack, which occurred over the weekend, was claimed by the Iran-backed Houthis and resulted in over a dozen fatalities. Following the event, Caster faced immediate backlash on social media. On Monday, TNA issued a statement announcing their decision to remove all content related to Caster from their social media channels and confirmed his termination from the company. TNA stated that making light of violent attacks is wrong and that the company takes responsibility for the incident. They also extended their apologies to the victims and their families, and assured that steps are being taken to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.

Our take

Max Caster, a man whose entire professional identity is 'guy who raps badly on the way to the ring,' looked at a weekend where militants fired missiles at an airport, killing over a dozen people, and saw not a tragedy but a fucking *opportunity*. His brain, a damp, echoing cavern where ideas go to die, processed the news and spat out this masterpiece: 'I drop bombs. You don't even have to fly to Riyadh.' Not only is this lyric about as clever as a concussion, it commits the cardinal sin of being lazy as shit. He didn't even make a rhyme. 'Squad' and 'Riyadh'? That's not a bar, you talentless prick, that's just saying two words near each other. For this, he torched his new job. His TNA career lasted one entrance - the time it took for his vocal cords to vibrate with world-historic stupidity and for the internet to rightly ask if he was raised by wolves in a fucking media blackout. TNA, which is not exactly the bastion of high-brow entertainment, had to issue an apology so fast it left skid marks, scrubbing him from their channels like a digital STI. They apologized to the victims' families, who now get to grapple with the fact their grief is a punchline for a wrestling dipshit who thinks 'provocative' means 'mentally vacant.' Caster didn't get 'cancelled'; he performed a public seppuku with a dull, rhyming spoon. He's not an edgy heel; he's a walking, talking argument for pre-employment drug tests that screen for lead poisoning. The only 'bomb' he dropped was his career into a fucking septic tank. What a spectacular, useless cunt. May his next gig be as the hype man for a funeral home that specializes in victims of geopolitical violence - he can work on his material there.
