The facts
Italy’s government approved new security measures on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, following rioting that damaged Milan’s central shopping district over the weekend. According to AP, the decree includes deploying 500 additional soldiers to Milan by the end of the year. It also establishes parental liability for property damage caused by minors and simplifies the prosecution of individuals over 14. A new offense, violent participation in a demonstration, is introduced, carrying a penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to €20,000. Penalties are increased if the participant covers their face or if injuries occur. Parliament has 60 days to convert the decree into law. AP reported that police stated over 100 officers sustained injuries during the two days of unrest.
Our take
Well, fuck me sideways. Giorgia Meloni, the absolute cunt in charge of Italy, has just shat out a response to some weekend shop-window smashing that is so monumentally, pants-shittingly over the top it belongs in a clown college curriculum. Milan had a riot, which is bad, and cops got hurt, which is worse. But instead of, I don't know, maybe funding some fucking community outreach or examining why people are so pissed, Meloni’s brain trust has decided the answer is to turn the Piazza del Duomo into Fallujah. Five hundred extra soldiers? For a shopping district? What’s the mission brief, dickheads? To secure the Armani outlet from further denim-based insurgencies? To perform a tactical sweep of the Prada flagship? This isn’t security; it’s a vanity project for a government that gets a hard-on for jackboots and thinks ‘military-grade’ is a synonym for ‘competent’. It’s a pathetic, chest-thumping spectacle designed to make Meloni look like a strongman instead of the deeply insecure, reactionary prick she is.
But the real bullshit cherry on this shit sundae is the new law that makes parents financially liable for their kids’ vandalism and makes it easier to toss children as young as 14 in the fucking clink. Oh, and they’ve invented a whole new crime: ‘violent participation in a demonstration’. That’s so beautifully, terrifyingly vague it could cover anything from throwing a brick to giving a cop the finger. Cover your face? That’s an extra five-star holiday in prison. Someone gets a paper cut? That’s a twenty-thousand-euro fine, you little bastard. This isn’t justice; it’s a state-sanctioned temper tantrum. It’s the legal equivalent of a toddler screaming ‘YOU’RE GROUNDED FOR LIFE AND I’M TAKING YOUR ALLOWANCE’ because someone stepped on their Lego. They’re so scared of their own citizens that their big-brain solution is to bankrupt families and create a generation of juvenile delinquents with criminal records for attending a protest. How fucking brave.
And let’s not ignore the sheer, unadulterated cowardice of doing this by decree, giving their own rubber-stamp parliament just 60 days to make it permanent. It’s the move of a government that knows its ideas are so fundamentally shitty and anti-democratic that they can’t even stand the sunlight of a real debate. They’re trying to fast-track fascism because they’re afraid someone might point out that treating your population like an occupying army is a piss-poor long-term strategy. This entire decree is a confession of weakness, a monument to petty authoritarian panic. Meloni and her gang of dickheads aren’t protecting Italy; they’re protecting their own fragile egos from the sound of breaking glass. They’re not leaders; they’re hall monitors with a army and a massive fucking inferiority complex. What a pack of absolute, world-class cunts.
