Marco Rubio Wets His Pants Over $100,000 “Gospel”

Secretary of State, confronted with report his ambassador allegedly swapped access for cash, tells reporters their facts are not holy scripture as his diplomatic partner looks on.

The facts

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday refused to comment on a Wall Street Journal report that alleged U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle asked a donor and Trump supporter to pay a $100,000 credit‑card bill shortly before her confirmation hearing, promising the donor access to administration officials. Rubio said he was aware of the report, published Wednesday, but had no knowledge of its truth and would not address it. He told reporters, You guys walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it, it’s the gospel. It’s not the gospel for me. He made the comment at the foot of his plane as he left Greece, with Guilfoyle present. Earlier, Rubio had said he would not discuss the allegations while visiting a foreign country but praised the embassy’s work and called the ambassador “strong.” Congressional Democrats have called for an investigation into Guilfoyle, who has denied any wrongdoing. The Wall Street Journal also reported last month that Guilfoyle allegedly promoted a Greek construction and energy company and allowed its lobbyist into private diplomatic meetings.

Our take

Secretary of State Marco Rubio, that sniveling little coward, has decided the best way to handle a report that his hand‑picked ambassador to Greece is a fucking grifter is to play theologian. The Wall Street Journal reported that Ambassador Kimberly Guilfoyle, a professional ass‑kisser, allegedly asked a Trump donor to foot her $100,000 credit‑card bill right before her confirmation, promising access to administration officials in return. That’s not diplomacy, that’s a fucking street‑corner hustle with a flag pin. When pressed, Rubio didn’t defend her, didn’t deny it, didn’t promise an inquiry. He just whined that the report wasn’t “the gospel.” No shit, Marco. It’s a financial paper, not the fucking Book of Matthew. Your ambassador is accused of selling government access to pay her shopping sprees, and you’re over here grading the journalistic canon like a pissy seminary dropout. He made this pathetic, word‑salad excuse while Guilfoyle stood there watching him scuttle away. What a pair of clowns. The head of U.S. diplomacy abroad reduced to arguing semantics because the actual facts make his whole operation look like a corrupt fucking garage sale. He previously said he wouldn’t address the allegations while visiting a foreign country, which is diplomatic code for I hope if I ignore it, it will go away. Then he spat out the weak‑tea compliment that the embassy is doing a great job and the ambassador is strong. Strong at what? Strong at racking up credit‑card debt and strong‑arming donors? Fuck off. This is the same ambassador who was already in the Journal last month for allegedly shilling for a Greek company and letting its lobbyist into private meetings. So her entire tenure reads like one long, greasy conflict of interest, and her boss’s only response is to get pissy with the press for reporting it. Congressional Democrats want an investigation, which is the bare minimum, but Rubio’s strategy is to pretend hard‑hitting journalism is just a matter of faith. What a breathtakingly stupid fucking hill to die on. The man is Secretary of State, and his defense of the diplomatic corps is that credible allegations of bribery aren’t holy enough for him to acknowledge. He’s not running the State Department; he’s running a protection racket for incompetent grifters, and he’s too much of a gutless bastard to even lie convincingly about it. The only thing strong here is the stench of bullshit.
