The facts
India's Supreme Court is slated to hear a petition filed by opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and several other opposition lawmakers regarding a sweeping exercise that has removed over 130 million names from the country's electoral rolls. A list of cases for Thursday, October 15, includes the petition named "Rahul Gandhi and others versus Election Commission of India and others." The plea was submitted following a protest march to the Supreme Court, where Gandhi rallied thousands of supporters, including members of the opposition INDIA bloc, student leaders, activists, and civil society. This protest is the latest in a series of demonstrations demanding the resignation of India's Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged manipulation of voter rolls to benefit Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The Election Commission, whose neutrality has been questioned, denies these allegations, stating the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process removes deceased, relocated, and duplicate voters, and prevents the inclusion of "foreign illegal immigrants." The BJP has dismissed the accusations, characterizing the protests as attempts to "create anarchy." Neither Prime Minister Modi nor Chief Election Commissioner Kumar have publicly addressed the issue. Gandhi's petition seeks an interim suspension of the nationwide revision of voter rolls, an audit of voter deletions, and safeguards against deletions made without prior notice.
Our take
Of course Rahul Gandhi’s big play is to legally defend the voting bloc of corpses. This fucker can’t win over breathing humans, so his masterstroke is to march a crowd of suckers to the Supreme Court and demand it stop the Election Commission from doing the boring, necessary shit of deleting dead voters. His entire argument is that removing 130 million names - a process the Commission says targets the deceased, the moved, and the duplicates - is a secret BJP plot. Right. Because Narendra Modi’s diabolical scheme is… accurate record-keeping. It’s the political strategy of a spoiled brat who thinks the game is rigged because someone finally took away his cheat codes. The petition is a monument to his pathetic career: it doesn’t offer proof of malice, it just whines that the cleanup should be suspended and audited. Translation: *We need time to figure out how to re-inflate our numbers with bullshit.* The Commission’s statement is the driest bureaucratic murder possible: they’re just preventing ‘foreign illegal immigrants’ from registering. So Gandhi’s rallying cry is literally ‘Save the non-citizens and the dead!’ What a fucking hill to die on. And the BJP’s response - that this ‘creates anarchy’ - is too kind. This isn’t anarchy; it’s a targeted, weaponized tantrum from a man who has built a brand on losing and then crying fraud. The silence from Modi and the Election Commissioner is the real insult: they can’t be bothered to comment on a clown arguing that voter list hygiene is a fascist coup. Gandhi isn’t fighting for democracy; he’s petitioning to be the official representative of the departed and the imaginary. What a total prick. He’s turned the opposition into a supernatural advocacy group. Next he’ll demand polling stations in cemeteries and ballot boxes that smell of embalming fluid. An absolute fucking embarrassment, from his stupid march to his ghost-filled plea. The court should throw this shit in the bin and tell him to find a living voter for once in his miserable life. Cunt.
