The facts
On Tuesday, Delhi police stopped a march by opposition lawmakers, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka, as they headed toward the Election Commission (EC) headquarters. The police forced the MPs onto a police bus and later released them, after which they resumed a sit‑in near the EC building. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjeet Sheoran told the BBC that officers had stationed points along the route and picked up protesters in buses, taking them to police stations. The protest follows a broader opposition outcry over the EC’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls, which has removed more than 130 million names from draft lists. Opposition parties claim the revision excludes eligible voters and benefits Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP, allegations the BJP and the EC deny. The Supreme Court is hearing a petition that the chief election commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, may have acted without the required approval of the other commissioners.
Our take
So the Delhi police have officially upgraded their duties from fighting crime to running a fucking daycare for disgruntled MPs. Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka thought they’d go for a little walk to ask why 130 million people suddenly vanished from the voter rolls, and the state’s brilliant, nuanced response was to bundle them onto a bus like they were toddlers who wandered off at the zoo. ‘We picked up protesters in buses,’ said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manjeet Sheoran, with the casual tone of a man describing his fucking grocery run. It’s not an arrest, it’s a scenic detour to the station for a chat. What a sensitive, democratic approach to dissent: when the question gets too hard, just arrest the question and give it a juice box. The Election Commission, led by chief commissioner Gyanesh Kumar - who the Supreme Court is now eyeing for potentially acting like a lone-wolf prick without his colleagues’ approval - has executed a ‘Special Intensive Revision.’ That’s bureaucrat-speak for ‘we took an eraser the size of a skyscraper to the electorate.’ The opposition says this massive purge conveniently fucks over their voters; the BJP and EC say it’s all perfectly clean. It’s a classic shit-sandwich: the authorities bake a towering, dubious administrative loaf, and when anyone comes to complain about the smell, they get a free ride in the paddy wagon. The whole pantomime is so transparently cowardly. Instead of defending their math, they just remove the mathematicians. The police aren’t keeping order; they’re acting as bouncers for a regime that’s terrified of a simple fucking question. It’s the political equivalent of stuffing your fingers in your ears and screaming ‘LA LA LA’ while ushering the critics onto the short bus. Absolute, top-tier cunts. Next time, maybe they’ll just issue pacifiers and onesies to the entire opposition bench. Save the bus fuel and lean fully into the infantilization. It’s what this shitshow deserves. The only thing more intensive than their voter revision is their commitment to treating democracy like a nuisance to be managed with a fleet of fucking transit vans. Pathetic bastards. End of story. Get on the bus. Shut the fuck up.
