The facts
Federal investigators have subpoenaed relatives of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., as part of an ongoing criminal investigation into her immigration paperwork, The New York Times reported Tuesday. The subpoenas were reportedly sent to Omar's sister, Sahra Noor, and at least one other family member. This comes after Homeland Security Investigations agents searched Omar's Washington, D.C., home on Monday as part of the probe. The Justice Department confirmed a judicially authorized search warrant was executed. Omar has denied wrongdoing, accusing the Trump administration of targeting political enemies. Separately, the New York Post reported that Omar's staff requested a change to her birth year in official biographies from 1981 to 1982 in May 2019. The Minnesota Legislative Reference Library confirmed the request, noting the original date was not based on documentation. The discrepancy does not establish falsification of immigration records. The Times also reported that investigators have examined whether Omar's late father lied on immigration forms. Previous federal inquiries into Omar's immigration history have not resulted in charges. Additionally, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro disclosed a separate examination of Omar's financial disclosures, which initially showed a significant increase in assets tied to her husband's businesses before being amended. The House Ethics Committee previously recommended dismissing misconduct allegations related to these disclosures.
Our take
Here’s a tip for aspiring members of Congress: try not to become a walking probable cause factory. Ilhan Omar is now under a federal microscope so powerful it can see the bullshit stains on her immigration paperwork from orbit. The feds aren’t just asking questions; they’ve tossed her house with a warrant and are now subpoenaing her fucking sister. She’s crying ‘political targeting,’ which is the battle cry of every guilty prick who can’t keep their story straight. When Homeland Security is inventorying your cutlery, you’re not a martyr - you’re a suspect whose alibi is falling apart faster than a wet paper bag full of lies. Then we have the side-splitting comedy of her staff quietly asking to change her birth year in official records. They tried to shave a year off, moving from 1981 to 1982, because the original was ‘not based on documentation.’ What the fuck does that even mean? Did she pick a number out of a hat? It’s the most pathetic, transparent attempt at biographical Botox ever attempted by a public official - a move so stupid it makes you wonder if her entire life story is filed under ‘creative nonfiction.’ And just when you think the clown car can’t fit another joker, her financial disclosures pull up. She initially ‘forgot’ to report a massive pile of assets linked to her husband’s business, then had to amend the forms. That’s not an oversight; that’s the financial equivalent of ‘whoops, I accidentally hid a yacht.’ Even the House Ethics Committee, a group of professional nap-takers, looked at this shit and recommended dismissal, which means the real scandal is so thick you need a machete to get through it. So let’s review: a criminal probe into her family’s immigration forms, a botched attempt to edit her own age like a Facebook profile, and financial reports that look like a blind monkey filled them out during an earthquake. This isn’t a witch hunt. It’s a one-woman parade of self-owns, and every new subpoena is just another fucking float. She’s not being persecuted; she’s providing the feds with a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ book of probable cause, and they’re reading every chapter. The only mystery left is which part of her story will implode next. My money’s on the chapter where she explains why her dad’s ghost needs a lawyer.
