The facts
Fulham secured their first Premier League win of the season with a 1-0 victory over Hull City, with Alex Iwobi scoring the decisive goal in the first half. The win, managed by Álvaro Arbeloa, relieves Fulham of the burden of being the league's basement club. Arbeloa's appointment aimed to transition Fulham to a more expansive style, departing from Marco Silva's pragmatic approach. The team displayed a dominant performance, particularly from wingers Iwobi and Oscar Bobb. The goal originated from an attack down the right flank, where Sander Berge set up Iwobi, whose shot found the net after squirming under Hull goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis. Despite a late red card for Ryan Sessegnon, Fulham held on for the victory. Hull's best chance to equalize came from a late free-kick by Mohamed Belloumi, which went over the bar. Tzolakis made several saves to keep Hull in the game, denying Josh King and Iwobi on multiple occasions. Gonzalo García also headed Iwobi's cross against the bar from close range. Arbeloa made substitutions to defend the lead, bringing on Tom Cairney and Ryan Sessegnon, the latter of whom was sent off.
Our take
Well, slap my tits and call me Shirley, Fulham have finally managed to not lose. Their maiden Premier League win under the grand 'Arbeloa Project' came via the most Fulham goal imaginable: a shot from Alex Iwobi that didn't so much beat the keeper as it politely asked Konstantinos Tzolakis's entire fucking torso to kindly step aside, which it did. A heroic, ball-squirming moment that will be etched into the Craven Cottage history books right next to 'That Time We Didn't Concede in the 89th Minute.' The 'expansive style' we were promised looked about as expansive as a prison cell, with the main tactical innovation being 'give it to Iwobi or Oscar Bobb and pray the Hull defender has a stroke.' It worked, because Hull are somehow more pathetic. Their best chance was a free-kick launched into the stratosphere by Mohamed Belloumi, a move so threatening it endangered low-flying satellites more than Bernd Leno's goal. Arbeloa, the visionary, saw his one-goal lead and immediately shit his tactical pants, subbing on Ryan Sessegnon, who celebrated his cameo by getting a red card faster than you can say 'liability.' This is a team that celebrated like they'd won the fucking Champions League because they're no longer the official worst team in England. Let that sink in. The bar is so low it's in hell, and Fulham just tripped over it. The only thing more embarrassing than this 'dominant performance' is that someone, somewhere, is writing a think piece about Arbeloa's 'philosophy' based on a 1-0 win where the winning goal went through a man's legs. Fuck off. They beat Hull. They'll be back at the bottom by Christmas, and we'll all have wasted 90 minutes of our lives watching a pissing contest between two incontinent geriatrics. Absolute cunts, the lot of them. Enjoy your three points, you massive twats. You've earned fuck-all else. Next week, reality. And probably a 4-0 dick-slap from someone who can actually football. Now piss off and let the adults talk about the actual title race, you fucking relegation-bait clowns.
