The facts
In the night of August 23, 2026, a man named Étienne D. was found beaten on the passerelle François Coty in Puteaux, outside Paris. Le Parisien said he was 31. Le Figaro said 30. He died of his injuries on September 1.
On September 7 a 25-year-old Sudanese national was charged in Nanterre with robbery with violence causing death, then jailed pending trial. Actu17 reported he denies any role. Le Figaro said he was under an obligation to leave French territory, an OQTF, issued by the Paris police prefecture in December 2022. DNA on the victim’s clothes and cameras around La Défense pointed investigators at him, French outlets reported. He is a suspect. He has not been convicted.
Our take
A man walked home from a shit restaurant job and got beaten into a coma for a phone. The suspect had been told to get out of France in 2022 and was still there in 2026, sleeping rough around La Défense, according to the papers. That is a state that prints expulsion orders like coupons and never cashes them.
You can wait for the trial. You should. You can also stop pretending “OQTF” is a policy. It is a piece of paper. Étienne is dead. The paper is not.
Polite France will talk about isolation and mental health and the dignity of the unhoused. X will call him a nigger and a replacement. The charging document, if the prosecutors are right, is simpler: a man who was not supposed to be in the country beat another man to death for electronics. Print that. Then ask why the order was four years old, you retards.
