Flipping NJ’s Entire Grift Just Got Flipped By The Feds

Cesar Humberto Pina pleaded guilty to running a Ponzi scheme, laundering drug money, and bribing a city official, proving his real estate 'influencer' persona was just a front for being a complete fucking crook.

The facts

Cesar Humberto Pina, 48, of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, known to his social media following as “Flipping NJ,” pleaded guilty in Newark federal court before Judge Madeline Cox Arleo to a four-count superseding information: wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, bribery of an agent of a program receiving federal funds, and travel act bribery. He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 10, 2027. U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer announced the plea.

According to the government, starting in at least 2017, Pina accepted investments from individual investors for the alleged purchase, remodel, and sale of specific real estate properties in New Jersey and other states. He often promised 30% or higher returns on investments within 4 to 5 months. To find marks, he partnered with a celebrity disc jockey and radio personality to conduct real estate seminars around the country, built a significant social media following, and then ran what the feds describe as a Ponzi-like scheme: commingling and misappropriating investor money, using new investor funds to pay off prior investors, and spending investor funds on unauthorized business and personal expenditures. He fraudulently obtained and misappropriated millions of dollars.

Pina also conspired to launder illicit funds, including money from the sale of controlled substances, for people he knew were engaged in narcotics trafficking and other criminal activity. And he bribed a local official of Paterson, New Jersey, providing cash and other bribes in exchange for official action, assistance, and influence in connection with his “Old School 5” development project, which had pending applications before the Paterson Zoning Board of Adjustment.

“Pina lured in victims and exploited their trust by using his online influencer persona. Not only did he steal millions of dollars from investors, but he also laundered money for drug traffickers and bribed a politician along the way,” said FBI Newark Special Agent in Charge Stefanie Roddy.

Our take

Let’s get one thing straight: Cesar ‘Flipping NJ’ Pina wasn’t a real estate guru. He was a fucking carnival barker with a better Instagram filter. His entire business model was promising suckers 30% returns in four months, which is the financial equivalent of claiming you’ve invented a car that runs on bullshit. And people bought it, because he had a DJ friend and a hashtag. What a pathetic goddamn circus.

The depth of this prick’s grift is honestly impressive in its sheer, unadulterated shamelessness. He wasn’t content with just running a classic Ponzi scheme, shuffling investor money around like a shell game for idiots. No, this greedy cunt had to diversify. He opened a side-hustle laundering cash for drug traffickers, because why stop at fucking over retirees when you can also help cartels clean their money? And then, because apparently corruption is a fucking buy-one-get-one deal, he started stuffing cash into the pockets of some useless Paterson zoning official to grease the wheels for his ‘Old School 5’ project. The only thing ‘old school’ here is the way he committed every white-collar crime in the book before lunch.

So for nearly a decade, this clown flipped houses, flipped investor cash, flipped drug money, and flipped off the law. Now the only thing getting flipped is the switch on his cell door. He copped a plea to every single charge, which means even this fraudulent fuck finally looked at the mountain of evidence and thought, ‘Yeah, I’m a guilty piece of shit.’ His sentencing is set for 2027, which gives him plenty of time to reflect on his greatest flip yet: turning his ‘influencer’ lifestyle into an inmate number. What a legacy, you absolute fucking failure.

Special Agent Stefanie Roddy said Pina ‘exploited their trust.’ That’s the understatement of the century. He didn’t just exploit trust; he pulverized it, used it to wipe his ass, and then laundered the fucking toilet paper. The only project he ever successfully completed was building his own prison sentence, brick by stupid brick. Hope the seminar was worth it, you thieving bastard. Flip this, you cunt.

The VA Wrote Down That Late Surgery Packs Could Cancel Veterans' Surgeries, Then Said Getting Them Faster Had "no value"

The Court of Federal Claims just ordered the VA to redo its $98.5 million sterile-procedure-pack solicitation. The agency shopped by lowest price technically acceptable, wrote into its own acquisition plan that late packs could delay or cancel surgeries, and then told the court a faster delivery plan was worth "no value" to it. Senior Judge Loren A. Smith was not buying it.
