Dems Demand Probe Into Trump's Taxpayer-Funded 'Love Me' Beg-A-Thon

Lawmakers ask watchdogs to investigate government ads featuring Trump's face and pleading lyrics as illegal pre-election propaganda, rejecting White House claims they are 'educational.'

The facts

House Democrats Jamie Raskin and George Whitesides have asked the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Office of Special Counsel (OSC) to investigate television ads that they claim illegally used taxpayer money to promote President Donald Trump. The lawmakers stated that the commercials, which began airing on September 23, 2026, were "desperate pre-election propaganda" and constituted an illegal use of funds for "narcissistic ego trips." The ads feature images of Trump, with lyrics like "love me," and praise from figures such as UFC president Dana White, concluding with fine print indicating they were paid for by the U.S. government. Raskin and Whitesides are seeking a GAO legal decision on whether the ads violated laws, including provisions against "publicity or propaganda," the Anti-Deficiency Act, and federal criminal statutes on misusing public money. They also asked the OSC to investigate potential accountability for executive branch staff, as the Hatch Act exempts the president but covers employees. The Democrats reject the White House's characterization of the ads as public service announcements, arguing they are false and similar to Trump's 2024 campaign materials. A White House spokesperson called the ads "educational and unapologetically patriotic," while Trump stated he would "gladly pay the money" if the ads were found improper. Some Republicans have also expressed concerns, though FCC chair Brendan Carr deemed them appropriate.

Our take

Get your fucking wallets out, suckers. The world’s oldest toddler has discovered a new piggy bank to smash open: yours. House Democrats, in a rare moment of doing their jobs, have asked the GAO and OSC to investigate a series of TV ads that started airing September 23rd - ads that are, and let’s be precise here, a federally funded cry for help set to music. The commercials feature Trump’s mug and lyrics like 'love me,' which isn’t a public service announcement, it’s a public therapy session. The fine print says 'Paid for by the U.S. government.' So your taxes are now buying airtime for a billionaire’s emotional support video. What a fucking deal.

The White House, staffed by the most shameless ass-kissers ever assembled, calls this 'educational and unapologetically patriotic.' Educational? The only lesson here is that the president is a desperate, attention-whoring prick who will use the Treasury as his personal PR firm five weeks before an election. Unapologetically patriotic? It’s unapologetically pathetic. It’s the act of a man so hollow he needs a government contract to force strangers to look at him and hear Dana White say nice things. This isn’t patriotism, it’s a state-sponsored vanity project for a guy who thinks the Oval Office is his own personal mirror.

And then the clown himself chimes in with his classic 'I’ll pay it back if it’s wrong' bullshit. Oh, how magnanimous, you grifting bastard. You’ll gladly repay the money you illegally took? That’s like a car thief offering to refill the gas tank after he’s totaled it. The sheer, balls-out audacity of this cunt is his only consistent platform. He’s treating federal law like a suggestion on a Yelp review.

The ads are so blatantly illegal they’re practically winking at the camera. They’re asking the GAO to check if this violates laws against 'publicity or propaganda' and the Anti-Deficiency Act. Let me save them the billable hours: Yes, you dickheads, using public funds to run a pre-election ad featuring the president begging for love is propaganda. It’s not a gray area; it’s a crime scene with a jingle. The Hatch Act might let the orange fuck slide, but every staffer who signed off on this 'love me' slideshow should be investigated for being an accessory to national humiliation.

This is the behavior of a banana republic strongman, not a president. He’s turned the United States Treasury into his own campaign’s tip jar, and every taxpayer is being shaken down for change. The only thing more embarrassing than the ads is the fact that anyone thinks 'educational' is a cover for 'please validate me.' It’s a national fucking disgrace, set to a soundtrack of neediness.
